The St Peter Mancroft Choral Scholarships (worth £500 p.a.) give the opportunity for young musicians to develop their singing skills and perform a wide repertoire of sacred music in a wonderful setting.
Up to twelve Scholarships (SATB) are offered to those between the ages of 16 and 25. The Choral Scholars rehearse weekly and sing services on most Sundays during term and for various special services. The Choral Scholars also give concerts, and have been broadcast by the BBC on local radio.
The Choral Scholars sing both as an ensemble, and in support of the church’s other choirs. Soprano and female alto Scholars sing regularly with the Girls’ Choir (for sopranos and altos aged 15 – 25) and the male alto, tenor and bass Scholars join with St Peter’s Singers and sing for occasional men’s voices services.
Applications are now open in all voice parts for the academic year 2017-2018.
We have a few current vacancies so if you are interested in becoming a Scholar prior to next academic year we would also be pleased to hear from you.
