Saturday 27th November, 7pm

Keswick Hall Choir present a concert for their 50th Anniversary featuring two world premières and an arrangement for violin and choir of Vaughan Williams’ iconic piece The Lark Ascending. Local composer Nicholas Barton has taken a well-known song by Dowland and dressed it in completely new clothes. The Swiss composer Carl Rütti, no stranger to British concert-goers, has written a 3-movement suite for choir, violin and piano, on a poem by W.B. Yeats and specially-commissioned works in response to the Yeats piece by renowned local poet George Szirtes. Expect some instrumental and choral wizardry.

The concert will run without an interval and last just over an hour.
